MONDAY 8th JUNE 2020 10-30am - 5pm

Paxi is the smallest island group within the Ionian Islands (the Heptanese). The largest islands are Paxos and nearby Antipaxos. Antipaxos is famous for its wine and two of the finest sandy beaches in the Ionian Sea. The capital of Paxos is Gaios. The area of the island is 76 square kilometres, just under 30 square miles.

In Greek mythology, Poseidon created the island by striking Corfu with his trident, so that he and his wife Amphitrite could have some peace and quiet.

The island of Paxos is approximately eight miles (13 km) in length and tipped up towards the west. The west coast is dominated by steep white, chalky cliffs that are greatly eroded at sea level, and harbour many 'blue caves', which can be explored oby boat. Much of the attractive landscape is still covered in olive groves. These stretch from Lakka, the harbour community in the north, through Magazia to Gaios, the capital. Olive oil making, soap manufacture, fishing and tourism are the main industries.

The trip will include a stop off in Anti Paxos. Where you can swim in the crystal clear waters or just sit back and enjoy the scenery with a cold drink. We then sail to Gaios, the capital town of Paxos. Known more recently as millionaires’ paradise, place of the rich and famous. A bustling little town, filled with shops, bars and some excellent restaurants. There will be plenty of time for shopping opportunities; including gifts or souvenir’s made on the island. The Island is a beautiful destination and during the trip it is very likely we may also see Dolphins as they enjoy following the boat and riding the speedboats wake.

It’s a really excellent day out, with plenty of time for a few drinks and food together. There is on an board bar and the trip will have a Soulful soundtrack of all your Summer Breeze favourites...
